What Are Dental Bridges?
A bridge is a dental restoration that can replace several consecutive missing teeth. Traditional dental bridges consist of pontics (replacement teeth) and crowns, which cap the abutment teeth (teeth on either side of the gap) and hold the bridge in place. Your bridge will prevent your existing teeth from shifting, restore your smile, and help maintain your natural facial structure.
You can choose between a traditional bridge, which is held in place by abutment teeth, or an implant-supported bridge, which offers added stability and crucial jawbone support.

The Dental Bridge Timeline
From traditional bridges to implant-supported bridges, Dr. Casagrande combines cutting-edge dentistry with first-class care and respect for each of his patients.
If you are receiving an implant-supported bridge, Dr. Casagrande will have to place your dental implants in an initial surgery. It will take about four to six months for your implants to fuse with your jaw tissue. At this point, you can return to our office so Dr. Casagrande can place your abutments, which are the connector pieces that will secure your bridge to your implants. After a brief healing period of just a few weeks, Dr. Casagrande can place your permanent bridge during a third appointment.
